Druid City Arts Festival | March 24, 2012 | Tuscaloosa, AL

About

Druid City Arts Festival (DCAF) is planned as a week long celebration of the arts.  DCAF Kick-Off Week begins with spoken-word, visual arts, theatre and more on the college campuses of UA and Stillman.  Then rolls into the Friday night Music Crawl on March 23 (10:30 pm-2 am) and culminate with a full scale arts party at the Saturday, March 24 arts fest in downtown Tuscaloosa from 11 am – 7 pm. Check out the Bands And Music Crawl portion of the website for more information.

Now in its third year, The Druid City Arts Festival has had rich success in introducing   new music and visual artists to the Tuscaloosa community. The community came out in all ages to support the sights and sounds. Attendance for the festivals first year reached 3,000 for the combined day time and nighttime portions. This year we are buzzing with energy and creativity and the joy of collaborating with the community, artists, storytellers, local merchants, and thousands of visitors converging on downtown Tuscaloosa in March 2012.

Druid City Arts Festival is presented by The University of Alabama’s Creative Campus with support from the following sponsors:

UA Student Government Association, Aramark’s Bama Dining, The Ferguson Center, The Tuscaloosa Arts Council, NeedTo.com, UA Office of Advancement, UA’s Chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority, New College, Alabama International Relations Club, and Rotary Club.

The headliner for this year’s festival is The Revivalists from New Orleans. Since forming in 2007, The Revivalists have earned their standing among the best original bands in New Orleans. The group’s blend of soulful, syncopated rock and earnest songwriting comes to life through a meticulously crafted ever-evolving live performance. In 2011, they were named Best Emerging Artist at Gambit Magazine’s Big Easy Awards. The band is proud to be included in New Orleans’ burgeoning independent, original music scene.
